Economy Power Dividers from Werbel Microwave

Werbel Microwave’s economy power divider series covers multiple bands, spanning 0.7 to 12 GHz. They are offered with either SMA or N female connectors in a compact package measuring 1.8 x 1.5 x 0.9 inches.

All units come serialized with test data provided. The 2-way series shown below shares the same housing structure over multiple models, allowing Werbel Microwave to come in competitively-priced while manufacturing in the United States.

Werbel Microwave WMDCXX-0.13-0.52-Y Customizeable Directional Coupler Covers 130-520MHz VHF/UHF

Werbel Microwave has developed a new series of directional couplers hat is customizeable in terms of dB value and connector configuration.

Depending on the needs of the customer, the series can be specified with a nominal coupling value +/- 3dB over the range of 130-520MHz, covering most VHF and UHF applications.  Nominal coupling values from 6 to 40 dB may be specified.

Since Werbel Microwave fabricates pc boards on a build-to-order basis, we can extend the price breaks for mix-and-match if all values and quantities are ordered at the same time.

The unit measures just under 6 inches long, and achieves the compact size by use of high dielectric substrates.  As a side benefit, this material also has high thermal conductivity, allowing us to conservatively rate the unit at 100 watts CW power.

The part nomenclature is WMDCXX-0.13-0.52-Y where XX is the value in dB and Y is the connector configuration: S for SMA-Female, N for N-Female, or NS for N-female mainline with SMA-female coupled port.

Werbel Microwave develops 10dB 0.5-6.0GHz couplers

Werbel Microwave continues to roll out excellent products suited for microwave test and measurement, D.A.S. and signal integrity applications.
Our newest addition to the series of "brick" directional couplers currently in development is the 10-dB single directional coupler spanning 500-MHz to 6-GHz, continuously.
Preliminary specifications are as follows:
-----------------------------------------------
Coupling Tolerance: 10 +/- 1.0 dB
Coupling Flatness (Sensitivity): +/- 0.5 dB typ.
Directionality: 18 dB min.
Return Loss (all ports): 1.2:1 typ.; 1.3:1 max.
Insertion Loss: 0.9 dB max. (includes loss due to coupling split)

Werbel Microwave Develops 6-way Power Dividers

Werbel Microwave is developing a series of 6-way R.F. power dividers to cover bands up to 8-GHz.  Shown here is a model covering the 1.5-4.0GHz band.  Typical insertion loss is 1.0 dB or better with less than ±0.5 dB amplitude unbalance among output paths.  Phase balance is maintained at ±4 degrees maximum.  Typical isolation is 22dB or better (rated at 18dB min.) and typical worst case input/output VSWR's are 1.5:1 and 1.35:1, respectively.  Available with SMA or N female connectors.  Rated for 20W in splitting configuration.  IP-67 rated enclosure optional (type N connectors only).  Made in USA.

Directional Couplers 500 MHz to 6 GHz by Werbel Microwave

WMDC20-0.5-6.0-X

The WMDC20-0.5-6.0-X series directional couplers cover the continuous band of 500 MHz to 6-GHz with 20 ± 1.0 dB nominal coupling and ± 0.5 dB typical flatness.  The unit is useable to 8 GHz with degradation of performance.  Directivity is 20 dB typical (15 min).  VSWR at all ports is specified 1.3:1 maximum.  Insertion loss is 0.5 typical at the high frequency.  Designed for 100 watts or less.  May be customized with N or SMA female connectors.  Made in Livingston N.J. USA by Werbel Microwave LLC.

MEASURED Main Line VSWR and INSERTION LOSS Response
The main line input and output return loss measurements are displayed in the upper-left and right windows, respectively.  The main line insertion loss is shown in the bottom window.  Markers are placed at the worst-case points, showing a worst-case insertion loss of less than 0.6 dB.

MEASURED COUPLING and DIRECTIONALITY Parameters

In the following screen, the memory trace (lower window) depicts the coupling response.  The directionality parameter is displayed in the upper-left window and measured as reverse isolation, divided by the memorized coupling response.  This mathematical operation is performed point-for-point during the sweep by the network analyzer.  Coupled port return loss is shown in the upper-right window.
